Hello raj. My name is Freedom and I am pretty new to the board. I thought your post looked interesting so read it, and would like to address some of your speculations about why one should't get anrgy. Good topic, by the way. 1. Puts you in an unresourceful state.
How do you figure? I don't think the Japanese thought of the United States as "unresourceful" when it dropped it's two atomic bombs on two of their cities. I think that is the ultimate resource, of someone who got ticked off/angry.
2. It blocks your thinking.
You might have something there. That is why I try very hard not to get angry. Nothing can be resolved, until anger subsides.
3. It doesn't make you reason. Instead it makes you unreason.
Sort of reiterating number two.
4. It gives your opponent power over you.
Not necessarily so. The opponent could be just as angry as I am. Where does he get his power then?
5. It makes you look like a fool.
That is why everyone thought Jesus looked so foolish when in his anger he knocked over the gambling tables of those who were gambling in his father's house.
6. Because Orange contains no rage and no age
raj. How did Orange get into this? Me thinks you are putting us on.
7. It makes you feel good.
When someone has reached the evolutionary spiritual stage where they no longer get angry, they are ready to move on to the next plane moving toward something akin to sainthood. That excludes those with of any type of mental illness, that blocks or doesn't allow rational or normal thinking. It would also exclude those who have had labotomies and are always in a "happy" state.
8. It shows you have command over yourself.
Yes. Better to count to 10 then explode in anger that blocks rational thinking...
9. I'm not goint to retype number nine. I'm just going to respond to it.
Are you saying that by not getting angry, one gets very smart?
raj. I'm not going to waste my time by going through all these reasons. Some I could question you about, but time, that elusive thing which does not exist, is calling me to get to other things.
It was nice meeting you.
Peace and love,
Freedom
